Westward Expansion: The Impact on Native Americans
The main impact on Native Americans from an effect of the United States westward expansion was the loss of land for the Native Americans. Over the 1800s and even before that, Native Americans owned a vast majority of what is now the continental United States. Even today, the Native American tribes and people own little land, although their rights have been expanded drastically since the 1800s. Even now, the people are still pushed into reservations (however, more rights as said before, as well as freedom to go outside of the areas). While America expanded, Native Americans diminished.
